The University "St Kliment Ohridski" - Bitola is founded April 25, 1979. Right after its foundation the Conference of Macedionian Socialist Yuoth Union has been formed. The Union was a social-political organization based on self-management agreement.
The conference of MSYU cost the University a great deal of effort for organizing the student social life. With the founding and work of AKUD Dame Gruev the activities of the Union of students of the University have been gretly incresed.
With decision of the working conference of MSYU on 20.11.1984 the Conference of the University in Bitola became a University conference.
This conference consist of delegates from all high educational institutions.
On 22.02.1990 the University conference of MSYU changed its name to Student Union of University "St. Kliment Ohridski" - Bitola.
According to these facts some changes were maded in the way of functioning.
Today the Student Union by its structure is independent and non goverment orgnistion with clear goals and tasks for solving the educational, economical and scientific needs and problems for the students.
The purpose of the organization is protection of the interest of the students, improving the conditions of learning and accommodation for students, in fact improving the student standard in general.
The student Union is full member of the Europian student association ( ESIB) and it`s activly participating in it`s activities.
Members of the Student Union of the University "St. Kliment Ohridski" - Bitola are all students of the University. With other words above 10 000 students. The student unions of the five faculties and one higher school are colective member of this Union.
Highest body for decision making is the Assembly which consist delegates from all faculties and higher school.
The executive board is an executive body of the Union, consisted by at least 7 members, obliged for realization of conclusions and goals in the Union work.
The work program is separated through departments:
- department of education
- department of student standard
- department of international cooperation
- department of informations
- department of culture
- department of scientific and exploring activities
- department of sport
- department of marketing
- department of ecology and helth-humanitarian activities
- department of cultural-entertaining life of the students

For a true illustration of our structure, we are offering fragments of the Student union Statute as a highest act of law which explanes the work of the union:
The union has the ability of juristiction with rights, obligations and responsibility established with the Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia, Law for groups of citizens and foundations and this Statute.
This Statute regulates all the rights, obligations and responsabilities of the Student union.
The name, organization and organizing structure have been given.

Article 1

SUUKO is a nonpolitical social organization in which the students are organized voluntary, despite their nationality, sex, political and religious beleives to undertake their common interests and cooperation before the academic institutions, the bodies of Republic Macedonia, the public and the public opinion.

Article 2

The name of organization is:
Student union of University "St. Kliment Ohridski" – Bitola

Its working areas are acquired with article 8.

Article 8

Goals and tasks are:
- influence of legislative regulation for student questions and interests
- increasing of student standard
- qualitative changes in educational programs
- instignation and realization of associated activites manifestations and forming of a mutual institution.
- economical activities
- working on development and satisfaction of all student culturall needs, sport recreational activities and other usefull activities

Article 12

Union membership could be individual or collective.

1 Collective membership

a) constitutional membership

Article 13

Constitutional membership in the Union consist all student organizations of faculties and one higher school, members of the University "St. Kliment Ohridski" University - Bitola.

Article 17

Constitutional union members are:
1. Student Union of the facculty of the Technical sciences-Bitola
2. Student Union of the faculty of economics -Prilep
3. Student Union of the faculty of tourisam hospitality -Ohrid
4. Student Union of the faculty for teachers and preschool trainers -Bitola
5. Student Union of the higher medical school-Bitola
6. Student Union of the faculty of biotechnology - Bitola
b) Escort membership association

Article 19

Student organization that can not have constitutional member and nonstudent organizations that have the same goals with the Union or have specifical interests together with the Union may became "organization in association" with the Union.

2.Individual membership

Article 24

Individual membership has a limitation to:
Full-time students who are members of constitutional member of the union.
Full-time students of faculties and higher schools from the University of "St. Kliment Ohridski" - Bitola that have no effects by not even one constitutional member.
Full-time students from "St. Kliment Ohridski" University - Bitola, incase were the constitutional member doesn't fully represent all students.
Hounared membership which is given to individuals, whose activites help the union, or help in the realization of the union goals. Hounared life time membership is given with acclamation of the delegates of the Assembly.

From article 26 to article 52 are defined the authorities, rights and obligation of the bodies of the Student Union.

Article 26

The Union parlament is a representative body to the members of the union and most highest body for decisions making.

Article 34

Executive board is a executive body of the union parlament with no less than seven students.

The Union President

Article 41

Rights and obligations are based on the Statute and other acts.

Article 46

President has right and responsibility to stop the execution of acts of the bodies of the Union and allied unions if he finds, that they are contrary with the Law or some acts, and he will inform Assembly of the Union or the Executive board of the Union, or the authorized institution of the State.

Article 49

The Revision board controls the financial working of union bodies, no less than ones a year, and informs the Union Assembly.

Article 50

Union institute sections are obliged to inform, expole and to prepare the union standpoints.

Article 53

Union bodies have a obligation to provide informing system by whom all the members could be familiar with the complete union working.
All the union acts are published.

Article 54

Union meetings are open for public, and guests interested, for helping the union work , also the meetings are open for public informing represenatives.
Meetings could be behind closed doors, in case accorded with the working of the adequte body.
Union bodies could organize press conferences and they could have their own way of informing.

UNION ACTS

Article 55

Union brings out a statute , books of rules , decisions, conclusions and other acts.

Article 56

Union acts are valid right after their notification.

PRESENCE

Student union of the "St. Kliment Ohridski" University - Bitola as a public service for the students from our University is working to focus all the activites to working programme union departments initiatives and projects of individual student initiatives.
Student Union with its working program may have predicted many projects some of them are done , some of them are on the way.

Completed projects are:

- Reopening of student paper 'Student"
- Publication of student indentity card for discounts in student towns of "St. Kliment Ohridski" University - Bitola
- Organizing the freshmen perties, culture events and supporting the same.
- Internet club "Student" placed in dormatory" Koco Racin" – Bitola
- Foundation of the “Computer, scientific, informative and exploring center ” together with the Home and Univerzity library “St. Kliment Ohridski” - Bitola
- Organizing of a student football league
- Participation in University bodies, senate , commission etc.
- Participation in the commissions formed by the Ministry of Education of Republic of Macedonia, seminars, conferences, work – shops etc.
- Organizing of student youth competitions and tournaments
- Membership in ESIB and participation in it`s activities
Further activities of the student union are:
- Using of university net for registration of exames through all faculties
- Unifing of student indentity card in University towns and conversion the same valid card in all of Europe for using the student discounts for members of ESIB
- Student radio
- Participation in national activities together with the Student union by the "St. Ciril and Methodius" University- Skopje and the Student union by the South East European University
- Cooperation with different non-government organizations and foundations
- Bilateral contacts with foreign student unions and cooperation
- Initiatives for better student accomodation ( Palas -ohrid, ARM house in Bitola and expansion of dormatory in Prilep)
- Participation in radio broadcasting, press conference, newspapers, TV appearance etc.

For realization of these and other projects, members of the Student union Executive board are commited to other students to stand up for better conditions at the "St. Kliment Ohridski" University - Bitola
